SeaVision's New Rose Colored Glasses
In today's competitive consumer products environment, finding a news hook that really sticks with the media is a challenge. When SeaVision USA introduced its innovative dive and snorkeling masks, Scott Jones used an old concept (Rose Colored Glasses) with a new modern twist to generate extensive media coverage for the company and the product.

It's A Reality—Seavision® Masks
Let You See the (Underwater) World Through
Rose Colored Lenses

St. Petersburg, FL -- If you have ever wondered what it's like to see the world through rose colored glasses, then just put on a Seavision® mask and your view of the world will never be the same. This innovative product, which can be used for swimming, scuba diving or snorkeling, features a patented color correcting filter system built right into the lenses making what you see in the water more vivid, clear and colorful.

The first product of its kind to be introduced to the watersports industry, the Seavision® color correcting mask has been tested by divers all over the world including the United States Coast Guard, the Navy SEALS, and the Navy's experimental dive team.

"When you are in the water, you want to make the most of what you see," points out Seavision® President Charles Duffy. "We designed this mask to help people see better -- whether they are in, on or under the water. The response has been overwhelming to say the least."

Seavision® sales have more than doubled since the first version of the product, the PF-1201 model was introduced. Since that time, the company has introduced new versions of the Seavision® mask that include a black frame, prescription lenses and bi-focal lenses -- all feature the unique color correcting filter system. - more - Seavision® Masks Improve Aquatic Vision

The theory behind the patented Seavision® technology is simple. In any aquatic environment, the warm colors (reds, oranges and yellows) are lost as a swimmer or diver descends. The deeper a person travels, the less colors he or she will see. For example, at a depth of 25 feet, red is no longer visible to the naked eye. At 75 feet, yellow looks greenish blue because the yellow light has been absorbed by the water. The Seavision® technology adjusts the color bands to allow users to actually see and enjoy the colors there in front of them.

Since the dawn of scuba diving and snorkeling, divers have been using face masks made of clear unfiltered glass, which by their design did not allow users to experience the many colors found under the water. Now, the Seavision® mask puts the color back into the users visual range, restoring the full color spectrum for them to appreciate and enjoy. An additional benefit of the Optical Filtering System is increased contrast that provides better depth perception. The result is clearer, sharper underwater images.

"Let's face it, diving and snorkeling are visual experiences," Duffy points out. "If you're diving near a coral reef, it's almost a crime to not be able to see the vivid reds, bright yellows or spectacular orange colors." He adds, "this mask is perfect for divers, swimmers or snorkelers. You don't have to be a serious scuba diver to want to see what you're missing in the water. The Seavision® mask is used by just as many swimmers and snorkelers around the world as scuba divers."

In addition to its many color-correcting and optical filtering benefits, each Seavision® mask also provides the optimal in 100% UV protection, important for people spending a lot of time in the sun. According to Duffy, the Seavision® system has been so embraced by aquatic enthusiasts that some users have kept the mask on their faces following dives because of the comfort and protection the product provides.

Supporting the revolutionary Seavision® lenses is the low-volume, lightweight frame, available in black or silver. Constructed from high-impact polycarbonate resins, the one-piece design provides comfort and functionality for any swimmer, snorkeler or diver. Available in eight colors, the mask is fitted with two quick-adjustable swivel straps, and soft, double-edge skirt that can easily fit a wide range of faces.

The suggested retail price for the Seavision® silver or black frame models is $99.95, and $169.95 for single vision prescription Seavision® lenses. The product, manufactured entirely in the United States, is available exclusively through retail dive stores, resorts and selected retailers nationwide.
